The Orbis box is typically made from PLA (polylactic acid) filament, a biodegradable plastic derived from renewable resources. The material is sufficiently strong for general indoor use, resists mechanical stress during handling, and maintains its shape. For higher durability, PETG filament can be chosen.

The box is not primarily intended for direct contact with unpackaged food or for storing liquids. While PLA material is safe, the layered structure of 3D prints can have micropores that would hinder cleaning and potentially lead to dirt accumulation. Use it for dry and packaged items only.

The Orbis box stands out with its unique, geometrically inspired design, which is typically lacking in ordinary storage boxes. While standard boxes primarily focus on functionality, this box combines practicality with a striking aesthetic element, making it serve as both a decoration and an organizer.

For outdoor placement or in humid environments, such as a bathroom, it is recommended to choose the PETG filament variant. PLA filament is less resistant to UV radiation and high humidity, which could cause material degradation and color changes. PETG offers higher resistance to weathering.

To clean the Orbis box, use a soft damp cloth and, if necessary, soapy water. Avoid abrasive cleaning agents and strong chemicals, as they could damage the material's surface. Do not place the box in a dishwasher, as high temperatures could cause deformation.
