From Idea to Finished Product: How Custom 3D Printing Works
Custom 3D printing at Niro3D follows 5 clear steps: a free consultation (no technical drawing needed), 3D modeling (simple parts completed in as little as 30 minutes), material selection with a fixed price quote, printing, and final delivery in person or by courier — typically within 2–5 business days.
Many of our customers come to us saying: "I don't know if it's possible to make, but I thought..." And our answer is almost always: "Yes, it is possible."
3D printing might seem like a complex technology for engineers, but for you as a customer, the process is very straightforward. Here's how we turn your idea into reality.
How do you start a custom 3D print order?
Everything starts with contact. You don't need a technical drawing. All we need is:
- A sketch on paper (even by hand).
- A photo of a broken part you need to replace.
- A description of its function (what it should be used for).
- A link to a similar product.
We will assess feasibility and recommend a suitable material (plastic, rubber, composite). The consultation is always free.
How long does 3D modeling take?
If you don't have your own data (.STL or .STEP file), our designers will create the model.
- Simple parts: Often finished within 30 minutes.
- Complex mechanisms: Require more time and precision.
- Reverse engineering: If you have a physical part, we will measure it and redraw it in 3D.
Before printing, we will always send you a preview of the model for approval.
Which materials are available and what do they cost?
Based on the application, we will select the material.
| Material | Best use | Key properties |
|---|---|---|
| PLA | Decoration and visual prototypes | Affordable, eco-friendly, heat resistance ~60 °C |
| PETG | Mechanical parts, outdoor use | Tough, dimensionally stable, moisture resistant, ~70 °C |
| PLA Silk / Galaxy | Decorative finishes | Glossy sheen or glitter effect |
| Specialty | Extreme conditions | Handled case-by-case on request |
At this stage, you will receive a precise price quote. No hidden fees.
Printing and Post-processing
We start the printers. After printing, we clean the part, remove supports, and if necessary, sand or paint it.
How is the finished product delivered?
You can pick up the finished product in person, or we can send it to you via Zásilkovna (Packeta) or courier — typically within 2–5 business days from model approval.
