Service Overview

3D printing is an excellent tool for architectural models. It makes detailed models quick and cheap to produce, and they help both you and your clients picture how the project will actually look. 3D printing opens new ground for making art. It lets you experiment with complex forms and structures that traditional methods would find difficult or prohibitively expensive.

  • A high level of detail at an accessible price
  • Fast production for student projects and client presentations
  • Complex shapes that are painful to build by hand
  • An efficient way to bring a digital design into the room
  • Freedom to make complex, organic forms
  • Easy reproduction and rescaling of your pieces
  • A wide range of colours and materials to serve the intent
A close view of a 3D printed architectural model of a city, with tall buildings in blue and green and the road network between them. Labelled "Praha", it illustrates how 3D printing is used for detailed, realistic architectural visualisation.

01  what we offer

From vision to something you can hold

Accurate models that bring a design to life

A physical model is often far more persuasive than a rendering on a screen. Printing in PLA we can produce elegant single-colour models that put the emphasis on the form and structure of your design.

We work with you on preparing the data so that even the smallest details survive the print. It suits student work, competition models and quick massing studies.

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the most common questions about this service

Ask us something else
  • Q1

Which material suits architectural models best?

PLA, most often. It is an environmentally friendly material that holds very fine detail and gives a clean matt surface that flatters the forms of a design. Other colours and materials are available on request.

  • Q2

How large a model can you print?

In one piece, up to 256 × 256 × 256 mm. For anything bigger — an urban scheme, a large building — we split the model properly, print it in sections and assemble it precisely afterwards.

  • Q3

My building model is not optimised for printing. Can you help with that?

Yes, of course. Models out of Archicad or SketchUp are rarely print-ready as they stand. For €26/hour we check the data, repair it and prepare it so the result is as good as it can be.

  • Q4

How detailed can it get? Can you print window frames?

At a layer height of 0.1 mm we manage very fine detail — window frames, railings, slender structures. It always depends on the scale of the model, and we are glad to talk through what is realistic before printing.

  • Q5

I need a model for a presentation very soon. What is the lead time?

We are used to tight deadlines, especially on student projects and competitions. Smaller models are often printed within 2-3 working days. Larger and more complex work is quoted individually, but we do our best to meet your date.

  • Q6

I want to print a sculpture I modelled in Blender. Is that possible?

Yes, without difficulty. We accept .STL and .OBJ, which most 3D packages including Blender will export. If you are unsure about preparing the model, we are glad to advise.

  • Q7

Can a printed piece be finished further?

Certainly. PLA models sand, fill and take acrylic paint easily, so you can reach exactly the finish your work needs — an imitation of metal, wood or stone.

  • Q8

Which material would you recommend for an outdoor installation?

For work placed outdoors, standard PLA is unsuitable — it softens in the sun and grows brittle. We recommend PETG, which stands up well to water, damp and ordinary weather. For permanent outdoor installation with heavy UV exposure, we suggest a covered position, or talk to us about a special material — handled case by case.

  • Q9

I only have a 2D sketch. Can you build a 3D model from it?

Yes, we offer 3D modelling from whatever you have. The rate is €26/hour. Send us your sketch or drawing and we will prepare a no-obligation quotation for the conversion.
