Service Overview

With 3D printing you can make any prop or costume part with remarkable accuracy — a Stormtrooper helmet, a wizard's staff, a futuristic weapon. There is no real limit but the idea. Get further into the world of the game you love. 3D printed accessories replace plain tokens with detailed models, build an epic battlefield full of terrain, and keep the box in order with made-to-measure inserts. 3D printing is a considerable gift to stop-motion animators. It produces accurate, consistent puppets and props — and above all it lets you print whole sets of replacement parts, mouths or eyes, for smooth animation of speech and emotion.

  • High accuracy and detail, faithful to the screen original

01  what we offer

Bring your heroes to life

Build the costume you have been dreaming of

We are as keen on films and games as you are. We will help you find or prepare a 3D model and print it as faithfully to the original as we can. Parts are usually printed in PETG for good strength and easy bonding and sanding.

Prints are supplied raw, ready for your own finishing — filler, sanding and paint. That leaves the final look entirely in your hands.

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the most common questions about this service

Ask us something else
  • Q1

Do you sell finished, painted props?

No — we supply raw 3D prints as standard. Large pieces will be bonded together, but the final finishing (filler, sanding, primer and paint) is yours to do, which leaves you full creative control.

  • Q2

I want a helmet printed. How do you make sure it fits my head?

Before printing we ask you for a few key head measurements and scale the model so the helmet fits as well as possible. You can then add your own padding inside for comfort.

  • Q3

How large a weapon or sword can you print?

Length is not a problem. Larger props such as swords or rifles are printed in sections. We design the model so the parts key together with pins, bond them for strength, and often reinforce them with a metal rod.

  • Q4

Which material is best for cosplay props?

For most props, helmets and armour we recommend PETG. It is a good compromise between strength, toughness and ease of working — sanding and bonding. For smaller detailed pieces PLA is also fine.

  • Q5

I found a model online. Can you print it for me?

Yes. If you have a 3D model as .STL or .OBJ, send it over and we will prepare a quotation. There are many excellent cosplay models on specialist sites and in online communities.

  • Q6

How detailed are the printed miniatures? Are they good for painting?

Miniatures are printed at high resolution (typically a 0.1 mm layer), which captures fine detail such as facial features and armour texture. We use matt PLA, which takes modelling acrylics beautifully.

  • Q7

What is an insert, and how does it help?

An insert is a made-to-measure organiser that sits inside the game box, with exact compartments for every card, token, miniature and component. It makes setting up and packing away much faster.

  • Q8

My game has an unusual box. Can you make an insert for it?

Yes. Give us the exact internal dimensions and ideally the components you want to store, and we can design and print an insert for practically any game.

  • Q9

How detailed can the faces be? Will the emotion read?

At high resolution (0.1 mm layers) we can print very fine detail. That includes a whole set of mouths for individual phonemes, or a range of brow and eye shapes covering a wide span of emotion.

  • Q10

Can you print a puppet with moving joints?

Yes. We can print parts for ball joints that you assemble yourself, or print a puppet with the joints already integrated and movable straight off the plate (print-in-place).

  • Q11

I need the character not to wobble when it walks. How heavy are the puppets?

The puppets are plastic and light in themselves. We can leave cavities in the feet during printing, though, so you can glue in magnets (to hold to a steel set) or pour lead for stability.

  • Q12

I am an animation student on a limited budget. Do you offer discounts?

Yes — we are glad to support students and their work. Get in touch, tell us about your film, and we will prepare an individual quotation with a student discount.
