A lithophane is a 3D image printed in plastic. At first glance it looks like a white panel with an illegible relief. The trick appears when you light it from behind — with a lamp, or against a window. The plastic varies in thickness, so it passes light unevenly and draws the original photograph in shades of grey.

Send the highest resolution you have. Portraits work well, as do photographs with good contrast between subject and background. Avoid images that are very dark or badly over-exposed.

Yes — keyrings and other pieces can carry your name, text or a simple logo. An SVG file is ideal for a logo, but we can work from a good-quality image too.

It depends a lot on complexity. A simple keyring can be made and sent the next day. More involved pieces such as lithophanes or figures usually take 2-4 working days. Ordering ahead is always wise, especially before Christmas.

Yes, runs in the hundreds are within our range. For larger quantities we prepare an individual quotation with volume discounts. At that scale 3D printing competes well with traditional methods.

3D printing is limited to the colours filament comes in. The choice is large, but an exact Pantone match cannot be guaranteed. We always find the closest available shade.

For accessories we mainly use PLA and PETG. Both are generally considered safe for occasional skin contact — a brooch, a buckle. For earrings we recommend hypoallergenic hooks; the printed part itself should not touch the skin.

Yes: the PLA Silk finish (a silky metallic look) and PLA Galaxy (with glitter). For other special variants — wood effect, thermochromic — get in touch, as those are handled case by case.

For outdoor use, exposed to sun, rain and changing temperatures, we recommend PETG. Standard PLA can become brittle and lose colour in direct sun and weather. PETG stands up well to water and damp; for long exposure to strong UV we suggest placing the planter in partial shade.

A standard print is not necessarily 100% watertight, because of microscopic pores between the layers. We can print with thicker walls and specific settings to get there. For live flowers, though, we recommend putting a glass or plastic insert inside the printed vase to be sure.

We use PETG, which is itself considered safe. The key thing to understand is that a printed surface has microscopic gaps. So we recommend using these items only with cold, dry food — cutting dough, for example — and washing them thoroughly straight after use.

No, definitely not. Dishwasher temperatures (usually above 60 °C) would deform PETG. Wash by hand only, in lukewarm water with ordinary washing-up liquid.

Ideally a 2D image — the silhouette of what you want to cut out. A simple drawing or a JPG, PNG or SVG is fine. We build the 3D model of the cutter from that.
