Service Overview

Got a good idea for a product? Before you spend a fortune on tooling, build a working prototype with us. 3D printing is the fastest and cheapest way to get your hands on the idea and try it in practice. 3D printing has changed how jewellery is designed. It gives you an affordable, accurate model of your design that a customer can actually try on — and that heads off expensive mistakes in metal. Made-to-order 3D printing makes production faster and cheaper. Order moulds for short runs, assembly jigs that take the effort out of repetitive work, or your own tool organisers — quickly and inexpensively.

  • Cost and risk cut sharply at the development stage
  • Design, ergonomics and assembly checked quickly
  • Iterations and improvements that are fast and cheap
  • A physical model to show investors or customers
  • A model that can serve as the pattern for a mould
  • Casting moulds made fast and cheaply
  • Better accuracy and repeatability with assembly jigs

01  what we offer

From idea to prototype in a few days

Test your idea before it is too late

The process is simple: send us your 3D model and we print it quickly. Within a few days you can hold the first version of your product, test it, and find the design faults while they are still cheap to fix.

For prototyping we use PLA as standard (fast visual models, excellent detail) and PETG (functional prototypes with more strength and durability). For special material requirements — extreme flexibility, heat resistance — we handle the order case by case.

Experience

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the most common questions about this service

Ask us something else
  • Q1

How quickly can you make a prototype?

That is the main advantage of this service. Simple, smaller prototypes we can often print and dispatch within 24-48 hours of receiving your order. More complex assemblies depend on the total print time, but even then we are talking days rather than weeks.

  • Q2

Which material suits functional testing best?

For functional prototypes where you need to test mechanical durability we recommend PETG — it is tough, dimensionally stable and has good chemical resistance. For testing shape and appearance, economical PLA is entirely sufficient. If your prototype needs extreme heat resistance, talk to us — special materials are arranged by agreement.

  • Q3

My prototype is made of several parts. Can you print and assemble them?

Yes, multi-part assemblies are routine. We can send you the individual parts, or put them together for you, bond them, and confirm that everything fits as it should.

  • Q4

What accuracy can I expect from a prototype?

Our FDM printers work to a standard accuracy of ±0.2 mm. For most prototypes made to check shape, assembly and basic function that is entirely sufficient. If you need better, we can discuss the options.

  • Q5

I have no 3D model yet, only a technical drawing. Can you help?

Of course. We also offer 3D modelling from 2D drawings, sketches or descriptions. Modelling is charged at €26/hour. It is the quickest way to get your 2D design into three dimensions and test it.

  • Q6

Do you print jewellery directly in metal?

No — we specialise in plastic 3D printing. This service is for designers and jewellers who need an accurate, affordable prototype of a design before committing it to precious metal.

  • Q7

Can I have a ring printed in several sizes to try?

Yes, and it is one of the main advantages. We can print the same ring model in several sizes so you can be sure the final metal casting will fit perfectly.

  • Q8

Can your plastic model be used to make a casting mould?

Yes. Our models can serve as the master for moulding and subsequent lost-wax casting (once a wax copy is taken), or for other moulding techniques.

  • Q9

I want to make a silicone mould. Can you print me a master model?

Yes — that is exactly what this service is for. We print a positive (a master) of your piece with a very smooth surface, which you then pour silicone over to create your own mould for repeat production.

  • Q10

Will a 3D printed mould survive casting concrete or low-melting metals?

Casting concrete into a printed mould is possible, but expect a shorter mould life. For metals our plastic moulds are not suitable, because of the temperature. In that case we can print a model to make a sand or ceramic mould from instead.

  • Q11

What is an assembly jig and how does it help?

It is a made-to-measure aid that makes a repeated task easier and more accurate. A drilling jig guides the bit exactly where it belongs; a gluing jig holds parts at the right angle while the adhesive sets. They save time and cut the reject rate.

  • Q12

I need a specific tool holder that nobody sells. Can you make it?

Of course. Measure the tool, photograph it, and describe how and where you want it mounted. We will design and print a holder that fits exactly.
